The Captain Cook Bibliography

Background

In 1970, The Mitchell Library, part of the State Library of New South Wales, published what was, at the time, the definitive bibliography (edited by M.K. Beddie) about Captain James Cook. Since then, however, a huge amount of material has been written about Cook in books and journal articles. The following lists attempt to cover most if not all of that material.

The lists

Books since 1965 (alphabetically). The lists aim to cover all books published since Beddie's work of 1970 (though with a little overlap).

Conference papers and book chapters

Conference papers and book chapters This list aims to cover all published conference papers. It also lists chapters and parts of books which have had multiple authors contributing.

Journal articles
