"I _____, filius of _____, follower of _____ swear that I am a Magus of the Order of Hermes. I swear that I have always upheld and will continue to uphold the Code of Hermes and the Periphial Code; [that I have been trained solely in Hermetic magic; that all my apprentices shall be likewise trained]; that I have never dealt with demons or diabolists; and that I will never do so. I further swear that I speak these words of my own free will and with complete understanding of their significance.
"I hereby renounce any and all ties to other Covenants, and do solemnly swear allegiance to the Covenant of Claxby-Pluckacre. I swear that this Covenant's goals, fortunes, hardships, allies and enemies shall be my own. I swear that those bound to me by oath or owing me service shall henceforth owe such obediance and service to the Covenant. I swear to abide by the Covenant Charter, and to obey the decisions of the Covenant Council. I swear to regard my fellow member's lives as my own, and to never engage them in Wizard War so long as they remain members. I swear never to allow this Covenant or its members to come to harm.
"Thus may I join my sodales at the Covenant of Claxby-Pluckacre, to live and study as one, for the advancement of the arts and of the Order.
"I do solemnly swear this Oath on the ____ day of _____, the _____ year of Aries."
For Agnes (and any ex-Hedge Wizard who seeks to join in the future), the bracketed section will be replaced by "that all my apprentices shall be trained solely in Hermetic magic". As all magic is Hermetic, this is hardly an imposition.
