being A complete and accurate accownte
by Agnes of Bjornaer
On the morn three day prior to the equinoxe I was interrupted bye a nock on mye sanctum dore. I anserred to find Ethelred with magister Jean. They werre conserned as how two scribes werre still missing after having gonne into the woods looking for gall nuts yesterday.
Given how Pierre was quite olderly and like to need help had he fallen out of a tree or other malfortune I agrede to join a search partie.
Two search parties were sent: the one consisting of Ethelred, Walt, Dydded and Stephen did seerch Northe of the river and finding nothinge returned home. The other consisting of meself, Robbie, Burt and Jake (the later two being grogges of no particuler distingtion save that Jake did once fall downe a hole createde by Jocke) did seerch in the woods to the sowthe.
Robbie fownde the tracks of the two scribes and we did followe them quite easilie untill the tracksseemed to fade away as if they were of grate age (but we knewe they were but one day olde).
We sawe one of the oke trees that hade bene climmed bye the scribes. For want of ought else to do I climmed the tree meself in the hope of finding some clewe.
I sawe a branch that had bene cut but yesterday yet was heelede as if it were many wekes olde. The tree dide not seme to be unnaturrel in any way.
While I dide ponder this I heared a shout frome belowe. Bye the time I reeched the grownde Jake tolled me that Robbie hade sene someone and had givven chase.
Jake was able to follow Robbies trail being as howe he had bene running ande makinge no effort to consele his passage. However, Robbies traile dide also fade as if it were lade many days prier. Jake did runne alonge the trail trying to followe the same pathe that Robbie tooke. Stille naught happened. Thene Burte sawe something and gave chase and Jake dide followe. I also dide followe but did quikly loose site of them.
Soe, I was alone in the forrest and instede of findinge two grogges I hade lost another three. But bye nowe it seemed clere that the fae folk were at work. Knowinge that the Fae have an afinitie for glamers I did caste a fewe meself hopinge to attracte theire attentione.
Eventuallie I was approached by a wizzened old crone. At first I thort she was of gobline-kin but she said how she was of fleshe and blood like mine and I figered she was like to knowe.
She tolled me howe my companions hade bene takened by the dryades who have a wekenese for mortal men. She was want to helpe me recovere the men as she knewe that the Fae would squabel over their prizes to the woe of alle.
Moira (that beinge the name of my benifacter) lede me alonge the Faerie pathes and arrangede a metinge withe alle the dryade-kin. It seemed that some old the dryades had etten the brede and chese we was carryinge fore ower lunchun. Theme what hade tasted brede and chese were wante to have some more so we agrede to bringe some more in returne fore the men-folke. Thene theme what had note kidnaped a body were up-sete thate they couled note also have brede and chese. So we agrede thate they coulde exchange gall-nuts fore brede and chese on a weite-fore-weite measure.
So we returnede home withe the men-folke and on the morrowe dide make our trades with the Fae. Theye were kene to continue the trade in gall-nuts, so we shalle mete again nexte yere. For her aide I dide offere Moira sanctuarie at Claxbie whenever she hade nede.
